Atul Kulkarni
Atul Kulkarni is one of those rare Bollywood talents who's genuinely versatile—and we're not just talking about the languages he works in (Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, you name it). Born in Belgaum and trained at the National School of Drama in New Delhi, he's built an impressive career spanning over three decades with some seriously memorable performances. He's a two-time National Award winner for Best Supporting Actor, taking home the trophy for the gritty Hey Ram and the controversial Chandni Bar. Beyond acting, Kulkarni has also proven himself as a producer and screenwriter, showing that he's got the creative chops to work behind the camera as well as in front of it. What makes Kulkarni stand out is his fearless approach to choosing roles—he's never been one to play it safe or stick to just commercial masala. Whether it's the thought-provoking Hey Ram, the ensemble charm of Rang De Basanti, or the acclaimed Marathi film Natarang, he brings a certain depth and authenticity to every character. Recently, he stepped into the screenwriting spotlight by penning the Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chadha, proving his storytelling sensibilities extend beyond just performing. Beyond the reel, Kulkarni's commitment to education through his research organization Quest shows he's someone who genuinely cares about making a difference in the real world.
