Anil R Mohan's directorial debut tackles a genuinely important subject—the emotional needs and independence of aging parents—but the film struggles to find a coherent voice in which to tell its story. The narrative carelessly oscillates between sitcom-style humor and heavy-handed social commentary, creating an uneasy friction that prevents either element from resonating authentically. The comedic moments feel forced, the dramatic beats appear grafted on rather than earned, and what might have been a touching exploration of senior loneliness instead plays like an extended television episode.
