Rahul Mehta's Review of "Will You Marry Me?"

The premise of a financial wager on bachelorhood had genuine comedic potential, yet the execution falters under unfocused narrative direction and tonal inconsistency. The film attempts to juggle multiple plot threads—romantic rivalry, financial desperation, and character betrayal—but struggles to give any sufficient weight. What begins as a lighthearted premise about three friends competing for shares devolves into melodrama when Rajveer's criminal financial entanglement enters the picture, creating jarring tonal whiplash. The performances feel serviceable rather than inspired; the chemistry between leads fails to elevate contrived romantic triangles, and the supporting cast doesn't compensate for the screenplay's structural weaknesses. Director's previous work averaging 5.0/10 suggests a consistent struggle with pacing and character development, and this film does little to break that pattern.

The film's core issue is its inability to decide whether it wants to be a romantic comedy or a thriller, ultimately delivering neither convincingly. Comedic beats feel forced around plot mechanics that demand seriousness, while the thriller elements arrive too late and lack genuine stakes. For a narrative centered on financial motivations, the economic logic remains frustratingly unclear—the audience is never made to understand why the share stakes matter enough to justify Rajveer's moral descent or why the other protagonists remain invest

Storyline

So basically, there are three single guys—Aarav, Nikhil, and Rajveer—who made this crazy deal with their college buddies. They all bought a bunch of shares with this agreement that whoever stays unmarried the longest gets to keep everyone else's shares. It's like a long game where staying single actually pays off financially, and honestly, the three friends seem pretty committed to the plan.

Things get messy when Nikhil falls head over heels for his childhood bestie Anjali and wants to marry her. But then Anjali's best friend Sneha shows up, and suddenly the whole "staying single forever" plan goes out the window. Both Aarav and Rajveer are totally smitten and start competing to win her over, completely forgetting about all those shares they were so protective of earlier.

To make matters worse, Rajveer's got his own drama brewing behind the scenes. He's holding onto a massive amount of money that one of his friends gave him, but things go south when his risky stock market investment completely tanks. Now there's this seriously powerful and angry businessman coming after him, and Rajveer's desperate enough to start plotting ways to manipulate his friends so he can grab those shares and fix his money problems.
