5.2/10Critic Score

"Wardat" attempts to marry spy-thriller conventions with creature-horror elements, a conceptually ambitious fusion that unfortunately crumbles under the weight of uneven execution. The premise—rogue scientists weaponizing mutant locusts as instruments of terror—has genuine B-movie potential, but director fails to establish convincing internal logic within this heightened universe. The investigation sequences feel perfunctory, lacking the methodical tension that should accompany a terror-plot narrative, while the environmental-horror angle remains largely decorative rather than thematically integrated. What could have been a commentary on agricultural vulnerability and scientific ethics instead becomes a collection of set-pieces strung together without meaningful connective tissue.

The film's greatest liability is its tonal inconsistency. Gun-master G-9 himself—presumably a seasoned operative—never feels sufficiently tested by the magnitude of the threat. The performances oscillate between earnest spy-craft delivery and B-grade camp without ever settling into either register convincingly. The climactic laboratory infiltration relies heavily on CGI spectacle that doesn't compensate for narrative shortcuts taken earlier; we've never truly understood the villain's motivations or the scientific mechanisms at play, so the resolution feels unearned rather than cathartic.

That said, "Wardat" deserves credit for attempting something outside the standard Bollywood spy-thriller templa

Storyline

Gopinath—Gun-master G-9—is India's sharpest agent, and he's about to face his most terrifying case yet! When massive, mutant locusts devastate farmlands across the country, the government assumes it's a terror attack and calls in their best operative. What starts as a straightforward investigation quickly spirals into something far darker and more sinister than anyone anticipated.

The trail leads Gopinath deep into an underground network of rogue scientists who've cracked the code to weaponizing nature itself! These brilliant but twisted minds have engineered giant locusts as instruments of destruction, and they're willing to unleash ecological chaos for their own twisted agenda. The stakes skyrocket as Gopinath realizes this isn't just about stopping a swarm—it's about dismantling an entire shadow operation that threatens the nation's agriculture and survival.

In a climactic showdown, Gopinath infiltrates the scientists' hidden laboratory and takes them down in explosive fashion, destroying their research and freeing the remaining locusts! The farmers get their land back, the nation breathes easy, and once again, our hero proves why he's the government's go-to agent for impossible missions. It's a wild ride that blends espionage thrills with environmental horror!
