Review
War 2 arrives as a technical marvel wrapped around a narrative void. Director Sriram Raghavan commands impressive resources—sweeping cinematography across multiple continents, kinetic action sequences that genuinely excite, and production design that justifies every frame of its mammoth budget. The performances spark intermittently, particularly when the script allows characters breathing room for dialogue-driven moments. Yet these considerable strengths collapse under the weight of a screenplay that mistakes scale for storytelling. The narrative feels bloated and purposeless, packing sequences that exist primarily as set pieces rather than organic plot progression. By the second half, what promised to be an exhilarating espionage thriller devolves into exhausting repetition—action for action's sake, globe-trotting without emotional geography.
The film's fundamental failure lies in a widening chasm between its visual ambition and creative execution. War 2 traverses nearly a dozen countries, exotic locations, and elaborate set pieces, yet emerges emotionally hollow. The direction loses narrative coherence as editing drags unnecessarily, and character development suffers from lazy scripting that renders potentially compelling figures forgettable and one-dimensional. While the action choreography and production values will satisfy those seeking pure spectacle and escapism, the skeletal plot and derivative screenplay make this difficult to champion as cinema rather than expensiv
Storyline
So basically, we're jumping ahead six years and Kabir is now working as a hired killer for whoever pays him the most. He's done some sketchy stuff in Japan and Germany, but then things take a turn when he gets kidnapped and brought back to India. Turns out there's this massive crime organization called the Kali Cartel trying to take over the government, and they want to use him for their dirty work. But here's the twist — Kabir was actually set up by a RAW colonel two years ago to go undercover and bring down this cartel from the inside!
The cartel's first big test for Kabir? They want him to kill Colonel Sunil Luthra, who's actually the same guy who sent him on this dangerous mission in the first place. This whole thing messes with Kabir's head because he knows what's really going on, but he has to do it anyway to maintain his cover. Once he proves himself to the cartel, they introduce him to their main guy in India, a businessman named Gautam Gulati, and things get even more complicated.
Meanwhile, back at RAW headquarters, everyone's freaking out because they have footage of Kabir supposedly betraying them and killing Luthra. A new chief named Colonel Vikrant Kaul takes over, and they start hunting Kabir. Kavya, who happens to be Luthra's daughter and Kabir's ex-girlfriend, joins the team on a mission to catch him — and she's furious after seeing that footage. They also bring in a tough military guy called Major Vikram to help track him down. Last we hear, Kabir's been spotted in Spain visiting his adopted daughter Ruhi.
