5/10Critic Score

"Aap Kaise Ho" attempts to blend bachelor party comedy with social commentary, a tonal combination that feels more muddled than masterful in execution. The film's heart—a story about moral conviction in the face of systemic corruption—deserves respect, and there are genuine moments where the narrative finds its footing, particularly in scenes exploring the vulnerability of its marginalized characters. However, the direction struggles to balance levity with gravity; the early comedic sequences feel disconnected from the heavier themes that emerge, creating jarring transitions that undermine emotional investment. The performances vary in effectiveness, with the lead carrying earnest conviction but lacking the nuance needed to make Christy's transformation feel earned rather than imposed by the script.

What works best here is the film's refusal to demonize its sex worker characters or treat them as plot devices—there's a genuine attempt at dignity in their portrayal. The climactic confrontation with corrupt police officials carries some punch, even if the resolution feels somewhat sanitized. Where the film falters is in its structural choices; the bachelor party setup never quite justifies the weightier material that follows, making the narrative feel like two different films awkwardly stitched together. The dialogue oscillates between sharp social observation and heavy-handed moralizing, rarely achieving the subtlety that would make these themes resonate organically.

Storyline

Christy's about to walk down the aisle when his buddies Binoy and Sajeer decide he needs one last wild night to remember! They throw him an absolute rager of a bachelor party that spirals way beyond what anyone bargained for. When two sex workers show up at the celebration, things get complicated fast—and Christy, being the decent guy he is, can't help but get pulled into their world.

Everything goes sideways when corrupt cops crash the party looking for trouble and easy money! Christy finds himself defending one of the women, which puts him in direct conflict with these ruthless officers who'll stop at nothing to exploit vulnerable people. The whole situation blows up in his face, threatening to derail his wedding plans and forcing him to question what kind of person he really wants to be.

But here's where Christy proves his mettle—he stands by his principles even when it costs him everything! The chaos forces him to confront his friends, his fiancée, and his own moral compass in ways that totally transform his perspective. By the time the dust settles, his wedding becomes less about celebration and more about genuine connection, proving that doing the right thing matters way more than maintaining appearances!
