6/10Critic Score

Prabhu Deva's "Wanted" arrives as a curious beast—a stylish actioner that prioritizes visceral thrills over narrative coherence, and largely succeeds on its own audacious terms. Salman Khan delivers a performance of controlled swagger as Radhe, channeling a street-smart antihero with just enough charm to make his morally compromised choices feel almost inevitable. The film's technical execution is sharp; the action sequences crackle with kinetic energy, and the Mumbai underworld backdrop provides genuine atmospheric texture. However, the story itself is frustratingly thin—the romantic subplot between Radhe and Jahnvi feels obligatory rather than organic, serving primarily as a convenient plot device rather than a genuine exploration of conflicting values. The supporting cast performs adequately, though the film never quite mines the psychological tension inherent in a good-hearted woman discovering her lover's criminal nature.

What's most striking about "Wanted" is how it exemplifies the gulf between commercial success and artistic merit. The film's ₹90.21 crore collection represents a phenomenal box office achievement, yet the narrative structure remains narratively predictable and emotionally shallow. Prabhu Deva, whose directorial average hovers at 4.8/10, shows marginal improvement here—there's undeniable technical proficiency in the action choreography and framing—but the screenplay's refusal to engage seriously with its own ethical questions undermines what could've be

Storyline

So basically, Mumbai's got this whole gang war situation going on between two crime bosses fighting over control of the city. There's this new police commissioner who's trying to clean up the streets, and then there's Radhe, this street-smart guy who doesn't really care about much except making money. He's just living his life with his buddies when he gets pulled into working for one of the crime bosses purely for the cash.

Here's where it gets interesting though—Radhe meets Jahnvi, who's this sweet aerobics instructor, and he actually falls for her. There are other guys interested in her too, including this corrupt cop who's seriously creepy about the whole thing, but Radhe keeps protecting her from trouble. When Radhe saves her life during some gang violence, she starts developing feelings for him too and they get closer.

But then reality hits when Jahnvi discovers what Radhe actually does for a living. Finding out that the guy you're falling for is basically a professional criminal and doesn't seem bothered by hurting people is pretty shocking. So now you've got this whole messy situation where Radhe's caught between his dangerous life in the underworld and his genuine feelings for this girl who's starting to see the darker side of who he really is.
