5/10Critic Score

There's something deeply earnest about "Let's Dance" that makes it hard to dismiss outright, even as the film stumbles through its familiar narrative beats. The core premise—a privileged girl discovering raw talent in street dancers and becoming their unlikely savior—has been told countless times, yet the film tries to inject genuine warmth into this well-worn story. The chemistry between Suhani and Aftab carries moments of real tenderness, particularly in scenes where their worlds collide and misunderstanding gradually gives way to mutual respect. The dance sequences themselves are vibrant and energetic, capturing that intoxicating rush of movement that makes you believe in the power of bodies telling stories. What could have been a patronizing savior narrative occasionally transcends its own formulaic structure through small, intimate character moments.

However, the direction never quite rises above competent, and that's where the film falters most painfully. There's no distinctive vision here—no visual language that makes this story feel urgent or necessary. The conflict between Suhani's optimism and Aftab's resignation is intellectually interesting but emotionally underdeveloped; we never truly understand the depth of systemic barriers he's internalized, so his eventual transformation feels more like capitulation than earned growth. The supporting cast of street dancers remains frustratingly one-dimensional, used more as props in Suhani's redemption arc than as fully rea

Storyline

Suhani has been obsessed with dance since she was a kid and fantasizes about making it big as a performer someday. Meanwhile, there's this young guy named Aftab who's got serious moves but doesn't really believe in dreaming about anything better for himself. One night, Suhani stumbles upon Aftab and his crew busting out some incredible dance moves on the streets, and she's totally blown away by how talented they actually are.

Seeing this raw potential in these street kids really strikes a chord with Suhani, and she becomes determined to help them get recognized and achieve the success they deserve. She starts imagining all the possibilities for them and wants to give them opportunities they wouldn't normally get. The problem is that Aftab doesn't share her optimism—he's pretty skeptical about whether any of this could actually work out for kids like him.

So the whole journey becomes about whether Suhani can inspire Aftab and his friends to believe in themselves the way she believes in them. It's a story about pushing past doubt and limitations to chase something bigger. You're left wondering if she'll manage to turn their lives around and make them see that they're capable of so much more than they think.
