"United Six" aspires to be a quirky heist-comedy with feminist undertones, but it stumbles at nearly every narrative hurdle. The premise—six desperate women attempting to rob a Bangkok bank—has genuine potential for both humor and social commentary, particularly through Jia's personal vendetta against workplace harassment. However, director fails to develop this thematic richness; instead, we get a scattered screenplay that treats its central characters as archetypes rather than fully realized individuals. The tunnel-digging sequence, which should be the film's comedic centerpiece, drags without wit or inventiveness. When the actual robbery occurs offscreen—the very incident that propels the entire second act—it's a narrative cop-out that suggests either budgetary constraints or creative bankruptcy. The performances feel restrained, as though the cast is aware they're working with thin material, and no supporting player manages to inject enough charisma to compensate for the weak writing.

The second half's premise—being hunted for a crime they didn't commit—could have offered satirical value, but the film treats it with the same flat, unmotivated energy as everything preceding it. Character arcs remain underdeveloped; Maddy's negativity is mentioned but never explored, and the group's desperation, which should feel visceral and urgent, comes across as performative. The Bangkok setting is criminally underutilized, serving as mere backdrop rather than living context. At ₹0.4 c

Storyline

So there's this movie about six girls living in Bangkok who are all stuck in pretty rough situations—their dreams have fallen apart and they're feeling pretty hopeless about everything. When frustration hits an all-time high, they come up with this wild idea to rob a bank. One of them, Jia, had actually gotten fired from that very bank for refusing to do something inappropriate with her boss, so she's got personal motivation. She convinces the others and they come up with this plan to rent a bakery next door and tunnel their way into the bank's vault.

The whole operation starts off with some determination, but things get messy pretty quickly. Digging that tunnel turns out to be way harder than anyone expected, and as the hours pass, the girls start freaking out one by one. Jia keeps trying to pump them up and keep everyone motivated, but it's an uphill battle, especially with Maddy constantly being negative and bringing down the whole vibe. Eventually, everyone just runs out of energy—both mentally and physically—and they decide to abandon the whole thing before they even finish.

But here's where things get wild—the very next morning, they turn on the news and find out the bank got robbed that night, and somehow the police think six girls were involved! Now these girls are in total chaos: they didn't get any money from their own attempt, but the cops are hunting them down anyway. They end up on the run, moving from place to place as the police close in on them.
