Review
Ribhu Dasgupta's Te3n attempts an ambitious emotional thriller that hinges on the convergence of two child abduction cases separated by eight years, yet the execution falters under the weight of its own melodrama. Amitabh Bachchan delivers a restrained, dignified performance as the grieving grandfather John, channeling genuine pathos into a character consumed by unresolved trauma—his scenes with Vidya Balan's Inspector Sarita crackle with understated intensity. However, the film struggles with tonal inconsistency; Dasgupta oscillates between police procedural rigor and overwrought sentiment, never quite committing fully to either. The revelation-driven plot, while conceptually sound, unfolds with predictable beats that undermine the narrative's investigative tension. Nawazuddin Siddiqui's supporting turn as Father Martin adds texture, but his character remains underutilized, serving more as a narrative convenience than a fully realized emotional anchor.
The film's structural foundation—parallel investigations converging toward a climactic truth—should theoretically sustain viewer engagement, yet the screenplay loses narrative momentum in its second half, relying on procedural exposition rather than organic character development. Storyline
So this movie is about this elderly guy named John whose granddaughter was kidnapped and killed eight years ago, and he's been haunting the police station ever since trying to get answers. His wife is dealing with serious health issues, but he just won't let the case go cold. There's this determined police inspector named Sarita who's been working alongside him, digging for clues even though everyone keeps telling her to move on and forget about it.
Then things get interesting when another kid gets snatched under almost identical circumstances. This new kidnapping has all the same hallmarks as the old case, which makes everyone realize these crimes might be connected. Sarita decides to bring in Father Martin, who used to be a cop working on Angela's case but left the force because he couldn't handle the guilt of never solving it. Now he's a priest, but he agrees to help out again.
As they reopen Angela's old file and start investigating Rony's disappearance together, the case starts to unravel in unexpected ways. John and Sarita are piecing things together, and soon they've got a suspect in custody at the railway station. The interrogation begins, and it looks like they might finally be getting somewhere, but there's clearly more to this mystery than meets the eye.
