Abhishek Dudhaiya's "Poster Boys" attempts to mine comedy from a genuinely absurd premise—three men's lives derailed by mistaken identity on a vasectomy awareness campaign—yet struggles to translate this satirical potential into consistent entertainment. The film's central conceit is undeniably strong, offering sharp social commentary on reputation, masculinity, and how quickly perception can devastate lives in a small-town Indian context. However, the execution falters considerably. The performances by Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Shreyas Talpade feel uneven; while there are moments of genuine chemistry between the trio, the emotional beats often ring hollow, and the character arcs lack the depth needed to anchor the comedy. The screenplay oscillates uncomfortably between slapstick and sentimentality without fully committing to either, resulting in a tonal inconsistency that undermines the film's satirical edge.

Where "Poster Boys" genuinely succeeds is in its critique of institutional apathy and the performative nature of government health campaigns—the two Health Department officials' reluctance to resolve the crisis feels painfully authentic. Dudhaiya captures small-town India's gossiping culture with some effectiveness, and there are isolated sequences of sharp comic timing. Yet these moments are frequently overshadowed by contrived plot developments and a resolution that feels rushed and unearned. The film's box office performance of ₹30 crore with respectable returns s

Storyline

So there are these three guys who are all going through absolute rough patches in their lives. One guy proposed to his girlfriend but got rejected by her dad who basically said he wasn't good enough. Another guy's sister's engagement fell through because the other family didn't want to be associated with theirs. And the third guy's wife just up and left him asking for a divorce. All three of them are completely devastated and confused about why everything's falling apart.

Then one day, these three unlucky dudes randomly bump into each other and discover something wild – there's a bus poster with all their faces on it promoting vasectomy! The crazy part is none of them actually had the procedure done, so someone totally used their photos without asking. That's when it clicks for them that this poster is the whole reason everyone's been treating them like outcasts. Their reputations got absolutely destroyed because of this mix-up.

So the three guys team up to track down who's responsible for this mess. They find out it's two government workers from the Health Department who were running this promotion campaign. The guys demand that these employees take down every single poster with their pictures around the city, apologize publicly, and compensate them for all the damage. The employees agree but ask for some time, though they're clearly not in a hurry to actually fix things.
