6/10Critic Score

Mehta's execution of this revenge saga operates within familiar dacoit-drama territory, yet the film demonstrates commendable restraint in its narrative pacing and character development. The twin-protagonist structure—orphaned brothers bound by shared trauma—allows for genuine emotional texture that transcends the stock "wronged man seeks vengeance" formula. The heist sequences are crisply choreographed, and the director wisely resists the temptation to bloat action set pieces beyond narrative necessity. What particularly works is the thematic exploration of moral degradation; as the brothers inch closer to their target, their methods increasingly mirror the corruption they oppose. The performances, grounded and economical rather than theatrical, anchor the philosophical weight the film attempts to carry.

Where the film falters is in its third-act compression and tonal management. The "explosive showdown" feels rushed relative to the methodical setup, sacrificing the psychological complexity of the brothers' final reckoning for a more conventional triumph-of-truth climax. The Thakur emerges as a functional antagonist rather than a fully realized character, which weakens the personal stakes considerably. Additionally, the film's treatment of collateral damage—mentioned in the synopsis as a turning point—remains frustratingly underdeveloped; we observe the brothers' moral quandaries in broad strokes rather than specific, haunting moments. For a revenge narrative to truly reson

Storyline

Two orphaned brothers grow up burning with one singular purpose: their father was hanged because a corrupt Thakur lied under oath in court, and justice never came. They transform themselves into fearless dacoits, robbing from the wealthy and building a legend across the countryside! Every heist is methodical, every escape perfectly choreographed—these aren't just criminals, they're warriors on a mission. The bond between them is unbreakable, forged in tragedy and tempered by years of living on the run.

But revenge isn't a clean path, and the brothers soon find themselves trapped between their hunger for blood and the collateral damage of their actions. The Thakur, secure in his power and wealth, remains untouchable behind palace walls—forcing the brothers to make increasingly dangerous moves! Their notoriety attracts unwanted attention from local authorities, and whispers of betrayal begin to creep into their inner circle. The line between righteous vengeance and becoming the very villains they despise starts to blur dangerously.

Finally, in a explosive showdown that tests everything they've sacrificed for, the brothers confront the Thakur and expose his lies to the world! Their father's name is cleared, his honor restored, and the corrupt system that failed them crumbles under the weight of truth. It's a pyrrhic victory—they've achieved their dream but at tremendous personal cost, walking away forever changed. The revenge tastes bittersweet, but at least the scales of justice have finally tipped in their favor!
