4.8/10Critic Score

There's a kernel of genuine intrigue buried in "Mysteries Shaque"—the premise of a wealthy girl returning to India and finding herself entangled in murder and conspiracy has real potential to resonate. The chemistry between Puja and Rohit crackles in those early moments when antagonism shifts into something tender, and you feel that universal ache of falling for someone when circumstances seem determined to keep you apart. Director attempts to layer in mystery and suspense, which would have elevated this beyond the typical romance formula. However, the execution stumbles badly. The doppelgänger twist feels more gimmicky than genuinely unsettling, and the film struggles to maintain narrative momentum—scenes drag when they should snap, and the pacing becomes a genuine test of patience. The performances, while earnest, can't quite anchor the increasingly convoluted plot, and by the time we reach the third act, the revelations about Kumar's conspiracy feel more like convenient plot devices than organic story beats.

What truly disappoints is the squandered emotional weight of Puja's journey. Here's a girl grieving her parents, navigating predatory family dynamics, and trying to claim her own future—those themes could have cut deep and made us feel something real. Instead, the film gets distracted chasing thrills and mystery-box moments that ultimately feel hollow. The love story, which should be the heart keeping us invested, gets overwhelmed by melodrama and exposition

Storyline

Puja's living that cushy billionaire kid life in Canada until her parents die and leave her a massive fortune—but here's the catch, her slick uncle Kumar is holding the keys until she turns twenty-one! He's got his greedy eyes on keeping everything in the family by forcing her to return to India and marry his son Prem, which would basically hand him the jackpot. But Puja's got other plans, and when she lands at her new college, she clashes hard with this charming troublemaker named Rohit who raggs her on day one—except their bickering soon transforms into something electric and real!

Things get deliciously twisted when a mysterious doppelgänger who looks exactly like Rohit materializes with a shadowy past, and suddenly bodies start piling up around campus! Puja and Rohit find themselves caught in the crosshairs, not knowing who to trust or what's actually going on. The tension ratchets up beautifully as paranoia sets in and everyone becomes a suspect, and you're left scrambling to piece together who wants Puja dead and why.

The climax explodes with reveals that unravel the entire conspiracy against Puja, tying back to her greedy uncle's schemes in ways you didn't see coming! All those murders, the lookalike, the betrayals—they're all connected to Kumar's desperate plan to keep her wealth locked down. Rohit and Puja's love proves stronger than all the deception and danger swirling around them, and justice finally catches up with the villains, letting these two actually breathe and build their future together!
