4.5/10Critic Score

"Miley Naa Miley Hum" attempts to tackle the familiar Bollywood template of parental interference and young love, but executes it with such predictable mechanics that the film feels more like a checklist than a genuine story. The premise—divorced parents sabotaging their son's relationship with a model—has comedic potential, yet the screenplay relies heavily on slapstick and manufactured chaos rather than witty dialogue or character depth. Rajpal Yadav and Konkona Sen Sharma do their best with the parental roles, bringing some earnestness to their characters, but they're working against a script that treats their conflict resolution arc as inevitable rather than earned. The film's central conceit of Chirag secretly practicing tennis and harbouring genuine affection for Anishka gets lost in the noise of contrived family drama.

Where the film truly stumbles is in its tonal inconsistency and lack of romantic chemistry between the leads. The Anishka character, written as charmingly oblivious, comes across as underdeveloped and one-dimensional—more a plot device than a fully realized person capable of generating audience investment. Director Rajkumar Santoshi, who has delivered far more nuanced work, seems content to coast through formulaic set pieces, and the runtime stretches uncomfortably as subplots meander without purpose. The climactic "family reconciliation" feels obligatory rather than cathartic, offering no surprising insight into why these relationships fractured or wha

Storyline

So there's this guy Chirag whose parents are actually divorced, which is pretty awkward because they both want him to get married. His dad Siddharth and his mom Shalini had a falling out basically because she couldn't stand his passion for tennis, and now they're both trying to set him up with different girls—one from London and one from Punjab. But here's the thing: Chirag's been sneaking around practicing tennis secretly and he's actually already in love with this model girl named Anishka.

When Chirag tells his parents about Anishka, they absolutely lose it and decide they're going to confront her and basically scare her away from him. The funny part is that Anishka is kind of clumsy and doesn't really know what's going on, but his parents keep trying to pressure her to dump him anyway. It's pretty chaotic watching them fail at their plan because this girl isn't going anywhere no matter what they throw at her.

Without giving too much away, let me just say that by the end, his parents finally get their heads on straight and realize they've been going about everything all wrong. They end up supporting what Chirag actually wants with his life, and it becomes this whole family moment that's actually pretty sweet. It's one of those movies where everything works out once people stop being stubborn and actually listen to each other.
