Mehlon Ke Khwab

Look, let's be honest—this is the kind of fluff that Bollywood churns out by the dozen, and "Mehlon Ke Khwab" doesn't do much to distinguish itself from the pile. The premise of two girls on a holiday gone wrong is serviceable enough, but the execution is painfully pedestrian. Director Vijay Bhatt leans heavily on slapstick and coincidence rather than building any real narrative momentum, and the frame-up angle feels like an afterthought tacked on to justify the runtime. Madhubala carries herself with grace, as always, but even her screen presence can't salvage the lazy plotting and forgettable dialogue that surrounds her.

The film's fatal flaw is that it commits to nothing wholeheartedly—it's neither a convincing caper nor a genuine comedy, instead limping along as a half-baked mashup of both. Chanchal does her best in a thankless role, but there's only so much two leads can do when they're saddled with a script that mistakes repetition for humor. The technical aspects are competent but uninspired, and the film never once makes you believe in the stakes or care about whether these characters clear their names. It's the kind of movie that fills seats on a Saturday evening for casual entertainment but leaves zero impression the moment you step out of the theatre.
