5.8/10Critic Score

"Khazana" operates as a serviceable treasure-hunt thriller that assembles familiar Bollywood ingredients—inheritance mystery, archaeological MacGuffin, ruthless antagonist—without quite achieving the narrative cohesion or emotional resonance required to elevate it beyond formulaic territory. Director's handling of the plot mechanics is competent; the Registan treasure setup provides genuine intrigue, and the dual-archaeology angle creates structural potential. However, the film stumbles in execution: Jai Singh emerges as a one-dimensional villain despite the actor's evident effort, the romance between Raj and Anita lacks organic development and feels obligatory rather than earned, and critical plot points—particularly Anita's forced involvement with the gang and her father's internal conflict—are sketched rather than explored with psychological depth. The pacing oscillates awkwardly between deliberate exposition dumps and rushed action sequences, undermining tension.

Where "Khazana" finds its footing is in the Raj-Badal partnership dynamic and the Bikaner sequences; their bonding carries genuine warmth that the central love story never captures. The lead performances are adequate but unremarkable—solid execution without interpretive risks. The action choreography during the climactic showdown demonstrates technical competence, though it arrives too late to fundamentally alter the film's trajectory. Thematically, the "good triumphs" resolution feels mechanically imposed rathe

Storyline

Raj inherits nothing but a cryptic clue from his dying father—a jeweler caught in the crosshairs of a ruthless villain named Jai Singh who's obsessed with an ancient Mughal treasure hidden at Registan. The treasure's location is locked in a sculpted slab shared between two archaeologists, and Jai Singh will stop at nothing to seize it. Raj's only lead is a mysterious girl named Anita, and he sets out determined to find her and uncover the truth behind his father's death.

The mystery deepens when Raj discovers that Anita is actually the daughter of Prof. Mathur, one of the archaeologists—and she's been forcibly dragged into Jai Singh's criminal gang along with her father. Meanwhile, the slab gets stolen, Prof. Ramdayal is murdered, and everything spirals into chaos as Jai Singh tightens his grip on power and the treasure. But Raj's luck shifts when he reaches Bikaner and bonds with Badal, a tribal leader who's also hunting the treasure and becomes his unexpected ally.

Together, Raj and Badal launch a daring rescue mission that frees Prof. Mathur and brings the group closer to the legendary treasure than ever before. When Jai Singh finally corners them during their expedition, it's the ultimate showdown—and Raj emerges victorious, crushing the villain and securing the ancient riches. The film wraps up beautifully with justice served, the treasure saved, and Raj finally finding peace alongside Anita and the recovered family, proving that good triumphs spectacularly.
