5.7/10Critic Score

There's an earnestness to this film that deserves recognition, even if the execution stumbles in places. The premise—brothers torn apart by circumstance and misunderstanding, only to be reunited by truth—carries genuine emotional weight, and the filmmakers clearly believe in their story of redemption and resilience. Suken's transformation from ruined heir to self-made success through sheer determination has real appeal, and his book "Hum Hindustani" serves as a clever thematic anchor for what the film is trying to say about national character and personal integrity. The court drama unfolds with reasonable tension, and there are moments where the melodrama lands with appropriate force rather than excess.

However, the narrative becomes increasingly muddled as it progresses, particularly in how Anand's intervention resolves the central conflict—it feels more convenient than earned. The relationship between the brothers, which should be the emotional core, gets sidelined for plot mechanics. Direction-wise, there's competence here, but little evidence of the distinctive vision that might elevate this above serviceable melodrama. The performances carry the material as well as can be expected, but they're not given enough nuance to explore the psychological toll of the brothers' rift with real depth. What remains is a film with good intentions and occasional moments of genuine sentiment, but lacking the refinement needed to make its themes resonate powerfully.
