Fardeen Khan's "Dulha Mil Gaya" attempts a formulaic romantic comedy built on mistaken identity and revenge, but the execution crumbles under the weight of its own predictability and tonal inconsistency. The premise—a fraudulent marriage leading to a makeover-driven identity swap—isn't inherently flawed, yet director Meghna Gulzar's handling lacks the wit and timing required to make such contrivances sing. Fardeen Khan's performance as Donsai oscillates between smug irreverence and unconvincing romantic earnestness, never settling into a coherent character arc that might justify his transformation. Kiron Kher and Zayed Khan provide competent support, but there's a hollow quality to the ensemble work—the chemistry between leads feels obligatory rather than earned, and the comedic beats land with a thud rather than a clever snap.

What's particularly troubling is how the narrative wastes its own setup: a five-billion-dollar inheritance clause tied to marriage could've been mined for sharper social commentary on patriarchy and wealth, but instead becomes mere window dressing for a revenge fantasy that never feels consequential. The film's 88% box office collapse wasn't arbitrary—audiences recognized that beneath the glossy Trinidad-Tobago production design and designer wardrobe lies a tired, creaky structure devoid of genuine stakes. Shimmer's boyfriend subplot introduces narrative bloat without payoff, and the climactic reconciliation feels obligatory rather than earned through

Storyline

So basically, there's this super rich guy named Donsai who absolutely hates the idea of marriage and thinks it'll mess up his life. When his dad passes away, he's left with this massive five-billion dollar company, but there's a catch—he has to actually get married to inherit it. His solution? Marry his friend's Punjabi daughter, Samarpreet, promise he'll come back in three months, and then just... never show up again. Classic jerk move, right?

Well, fast forward three months and Samarpreet flies all the way to Trinidad and Tobago to find her husband, only to discover he's hanging out with another woman. She's heartbroken and runs away, but then gets hit by a car. Lucky for her, the car's owner is Shimmer, who happens to be one of Donsai's best friends. Once Samarpreet tells Shimmer what went down, Shimmer decides to help her get revenge by giving her a complete makeover and renaming her "Samara."

Here's where it gets interesting—Donsai has no clue that Samara is actually his wife, and he completely falls for her. He starts asking her out, trying to win her over, and even gets it in his head that he wants to marry her. Meanwhile, Shimmer and Samarpreet are executing this whole plan to teach him a lesson, but things get complicated when Shimmer's own boyfriend shows up unexpectedly and gets dragged into the whole situation.
