4.5/10Critic Score

Bypass Road attempts to blend wheelchair-bound protagonist drama with domestic intrigue and murder mystery, a narrative ambition that ultimately proves too sprawling for its own good. The central premise—a paralyzed fashion designer caught between a model's suspicious death and his own family's treachery—carries genuine intrigue, and the film deserves credit for exploring the psychological vulnerability of someone physically diminished yet mentally sharp. However, the execution falters under the weight of too many competing plot threads. The investigation into the model's murder, the stepmother's shadowy machinations, and the backstory of Vikram's original accident all demand attention, but none receives the sustained focus required to generate genuine tension or emotional resonance.

The film's structure betrays its thriller aspirations by introducing suspects and red herrings with little discrimination, leaving audiences confused rather than engaged. While the premise suggests a clever examination of guilt and innocence from an interesting vantage point, the screenplay struggles to maintain momentum between revelations. The performances appear competent enough to suggest better material might have served them well, but the direction never quite marshals the psychological precision needed to make the mystery genuinely absorbing. For a thriller, ambiguity about truth can be effective; here, it merely feels like narrative indecision masquerading as complexity.

Storyline

When a celebrated fashion designer named Vikram gets caught in a devastating accident that leaves him wheelchair-bound, he becomes entangled in a murder mystery that threatens to destroy everything he has left. A model connected to his past is found dead under suspicious circumstances, and suddenly the grieving designer finds himself at the center of a police investigation with mounting evidence stacked against him. What unfolds is a gripping examination of guilt, innocence, and the murky spaces between truth and perception.

Back at his family estate, Vikram discovers that sinister forces are at work much closer to home than he ever suspected. His conniving stepmother and her shadowy associates seem to have their own dangerous agenda, one that might involve orchestrating the very accidents that crippled him in the first place. The walls of his childhood home transform into the setting for a taut psychological thriller where trust becomes a luxury he can no longer afford.

As Vikram digs deeper into the circumstances surrounding the model's death, the mystery only grows more complex and layered. Multiple suspects emerge from the shadows, each with compelling motives and suspicious alibis that refuse to add up cleanly. The film masterfully weaves together past secrets and present dangers, keeping viewers perpetually off-balance as they race toward a truth that's far more complicated than anyone initially imagined.
