Satyajit Ray's beloved characters finally get the animated treatment they deserve, and the results are visually stupendous. The production design is nothing short of eye-candy—those handcrafted aesthetics, the vibrant use of Indian textiles, the puppet-like character work—it all screams authenticity and care. The music hits just right too, complementing the whimsical narrative with real charm. What really impresses is how the filmmakers have captured that distinctly Indian flavour without resorting to tired clichés; this feels like a love letter to Ray's original vision rendered in living colour.

But here's where things stumble: a gorgeous wrapper doesn't always guarantee what's inside is equally satisfying. While the visual spectacle and soundtrack manage to captivate audiences across age groups, the narrative itself lacks the storytelling muscle to sustain the momentum. The film leans heavily on its aesthetic appeal, which, while delightful, can't fully compensate for a somewhat thin plot. It's the classic case of style overshadowing substance—a beautifully crafted box that leaves you wanting more from what's packed inside it.
