Abhinetri attempts to wrestle with a genuinely compelling domestic conflict—the tension between individual aspiration and marital compromise—but falters in its execution, ultimately settling for a superficial resolution that undermines its own premise. The film's central conceit has merit: a scientist's neglect driving a dancer-wife back to her art, and the ensuing resentment, speaks to real relationship friction. However, director's treatment feels manipulative rather than nuanced. The performances carry weight where the script doesn't; there's a quiet authenticity in the actors' portrayal of marital disconnect that occasionally transcends the melodramatic framework. Yet the third-act salvation through maternal intervention—essentially asking the couple to rediscover each other without addressing the fundamental incompatibility in their life visions—feels like emotional sleight of hand rather than earned character growth.

Storyline

Shekar, a brilliant young scientist, locks eyes with Anjana, a mesmerizing stage dancer and singer, and what starts as a chance encounter blooms into genuine love! His mother gives them her blessing without hesitation, and they marry with such promise—Anjana even sets aside her art to build a quiet, domestic life with him. For months, everything feels perfect, like they've found their forever in each other.

But then the laboratory starts calling Shekar away more and more, leaving Anjana feeling neglected and restless in the silence of their home. She decides to reignite her passion for dance and music, believing it'll fill the void, but Shekar sees it as a betrayal of their marriage and what they built together. The arguments escalate, resentment settles in like unwanted furniture, and they can't help but drift apart—separation feels like the only way out.

When Shekar's aging mother announces a visit, both of them realize they can't break her heart with this truth, so they make a deal to live together again, at least for her sake. But something magical happens in those shared days—watching her sacrifice and his dedication through fresh eyes, they finally understand what was missing all along. They rediscover each other, not as the people they pretended to be, but as the complete, messy, artistic, brilliant versions of themselves that actually matter!
