Rajiv Kapoor's *Aa Ab Laut Chalen* captures something achingly real about the immigrant experience—that desperate hunger to belong, to prove yourself, mixed with the gnawing homesickness that never quite leaves your bones. Ajay Devgn carries this internal conflict with a quiet intensity; his Rohan isn't a hero but a young man learning the hard way that shortcuts through life exact their own currency. The supporting cast, particularly the camaraderie between Rohan and his taxi-driver friends, feels lived-in and genuine. However, the film stumbles when it tries to be both a romance and a moral fable. The Loveleen subplot, while narratively necessary, feels rushed and somewhat superficial—we never quite understand what draws Rohan so completely away from Pooja, making his choices feel more plot-driven than emotionally inevitable.

What truly moves me about this film is its ultimate message: that home isn't always a place you run toward or away from, but sometimes the people who stand by you when you're at your most lost. Storyline

So this guy Rohan is basically stuck at home in India with no job prospects, and his mom is pretty protective of him. When an old family friend suggests he move to America to start fresh, Rohan jumps at the chance even though his mom totally flips out—turns out his dad did the same thing years ago and it didn't end well. But Rohan heads to New York anyway, determined to make it work.

When he gets there, things don't go as planned with the family friend, so Rohan ends up crashing with some taxi drivers instead, including this really cool Pakistani guy named Sardar Khan. Through his new friends, he meets Pooja, this sweet Indian girl, and they become close. The two of them are working hard but barely making ends meet, and Rohan's visa is running out, so he starts feeling the pressure to figure out his immigration status fast.

Things get complicated when Rohan decides to pursue a shortcut—a fake marriage for a green card. He gets involved with this glamorous, wealthy woman named Loveleen who seems perfect on paper, and he completely gets caught up in her world. Before you know it, he's ditched his old friends and his connection with Pooja to move into this fancy mansion, leaving behind the people who actually cared about him.
