Mohan Bhakri was a prolific force in Hindi B-movie cinema during the 1980s, carving out a unique niche for himself as both producer and director in an era when horror films were still finding their feet in Indian cinema. Though he worked primarily in the lower budget circuit, Bhakri's output was impressive in sheer volume and ambition. His two standout creations—Apradhi Kaun? (1982) and Cheekh (1984)—became cult favorites and remain his most celebrated works, showcasing his knack for blending suspense with the raw energy that defined B-movie horror of that decade. What set Bhakri apart was his fearlessness in experimenting with horror as a storytelling tool at a time when the genre wasn't considered mainstream.
