There's something deeply moving about watching a man fight not against his wife, but *for* her—and "Woh Phir Aayegi" attempts to explore that tender desperation at its core. The premise of possession as a metaphor for loss of agency is compelling, and when the film leans into the emotional weight of Raju's helplessness, there are genuine moments that sting. The climax, anchored on the idea that love can be a force of liberation from within, feels earned and touching. However, the execution falters considerably. The film gets caught between wanting to be a supernatural thriller and an intimate relationship drama, never quite committing fully to either. The ghost's motivations feel mechanical rather than tragic, and crucial plot details about Asha's murder emerge too conveniently late to build real investment. Direction wavers—some scenes crackle with tension while others drift into melodramatic excess that undermines the story's emotional authenticity.
The performances carry the film when the writing doesn't. There's real vulnerability in how the lead actor portrays Raju's desperation, that specific male anguish of loving someone slipping away from you. Yet the actress playing the possessed Aarti struggles with the tonal shifts—demonic possession scenes feel more pantomime than terrifying, and her portrayal of Aarti fighting back from within the possession needed more nuance to become truly haunting. The supporting cast largely exists in service of plot mechanics rather than
