Review
"Wedding Anniversary" is a film that mistakes philosophical meandering for emotional depth, and that's its fatal flaw. The premise—a spurned wife meeting her favorite author at a Goa resort—has genuine potential for romantic drama or witty banter, but director Deepak Tijori squanders it by turning what should be a taut two-character study into a pretentious snoozefest. Naseeruddin Shah delivers a measured, intelligent performance as the author, and Anupama Pathak tries her best to inject some life into the wronged wife, but even their combined competence can't rescue dialogue that prioritizes philosophical speeches over actual human connection. The conversations about love feel unearned because we're never given a reason to care about these people—their motivations remain vague, their chemistry nonexistent.
What truly baffles is how the film manages to be both tedious and hollow. A movie that centers itself on intimate discussions needs either sharp writing or magnetic personalities to pull it off; "Wedding Anniversary" has neither. Instead, it coasts on the assumption that mere presence of "meaningful themes" about marriage and literature will substitute for a real story. The husband's absence is never explored as the actual betrayal it deserves to be, the resort setting is criminally underutilized, and the entire arc between these two strangers lacks any genuine spark. Even at a crisp 90 minutes, it feels bloated with self-importance and starved of substance.

Storyline
So basically, this couple was totally set on celebrating their wedding anniversary together in Goa, but then work gets in the way and the husband has to bail at the last minute. The wife ends up going solo, which is pretty disappointing when you've been planning something special. While she's there waiting around, she decides to dive into a book by this author she absolutely loves to pass the time.
Here's where things get interesting though – out of nowhere, the actual author of the book shows up at her door! Talk about a wild coincidence, right? I mean, what are the odds that your favorite writer would just randomly appear while you're reading their work in this resort town?
Once they start chatting, things get pretty deep and philosophical. The author launches into these thoughtful conversations about what love really means and how important it actually is in our everyday lives. That whole discussion basically becomes the heart of the movie, so it's definitely something meaningful rather than just a random encounter.
