There's a rawness to "Wanted: Dead or Alive" that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. The premise—a man wrongly imprisoned, seeking redemption while another victim mistakes him for her father's killer—is emotionally potent, tapping into that primal human need for justice and vindication. The film's central tension works beautifully: watching Vikram prove his innocence not through grand gestures but through quiet, steady humanity. His performance carries the weight of a man stripped of everything, and there's something deeply moving about how the director frames his struggle—not as a typical revenge fantasy, but as a journey toward reclaiming one's dignity. The relationship between Vikram and Neeta becomes the emotional spine that elevates this beyond standard vigilante fare; it's about two damaged souls learning to trust again.

However, the film stumbles when it reaches for spectacle over substance. The climactic confrontation with Kehar Singh, while cathartic, relies on familiar action-film tropes that feel somewhat disconnected from the intimate character work that preceded it. There are moments where the pacing drags, where the narrative takes detours that don't quite justify themselves thematically. The supporting characters sometimes feel sketched rather than fully realized, and certain plot revelations could have landed with greater impact with tighter screenplay work. Yet despite these flaws, there's genuine heart here—a film that understands its audience will

Storyline

Vikram's a straight-shooting forest officer living his best life with Angela, his beautiful wife, until everything goes dark in one brutal moment—Kehar Singh, a ruthless dacait, murders her in cold blood. Consumed by rage and desperate for justice, Vikram hunts down the killer, but the system turns against him—he's framed, convicted, and thrown behind bars. Years dissolve in prison as he counts down the days, burning with the need to clear his name and avenge Angela's death.

Released after serving his sentence, Vikram finally tastes freedom, only to find himself trapped in another nightmare. Neeta, a young woman whose father was killed, is convinced that Vikram is the murderer she's been searching for—and he becomes her target. Now he's got to prove his innocence while navigating Neeta's suspicion and the weight of his own tragic past.

What makes this absolutely brilliant is how Vikram slowly gains Neeta's trust by proving he's not the monster she thinks he is. As the truth unravels, they uncover that Kehar Singh is behind both murders, and Vikram finally gets his shot at real justice. The climax erupts into raw, cathartic action, and when Vikram brings down Kehar Singh, it's not just about revenge—it's about reclaiming his life and giving Neeta closure too.
