Rajesh Krishnan's "Toofan" attempts to marry the spectacle of superhero cinema with the intimate drama of sibling bonds, and while the ambition is admirable, the execution remains uneven. Hrithik Roshan brings considerable physical presence and earnestness to the role of the Hanuman-devout powerhouse, channeling genuine devotion alongside his action sequences. However, the film struggles with tonal consistency—it cannot quite decide whether it wants to be a grounded family tragedy or a larger-than-life superhero narrative. The sequences exploring the younger brother's obsession with completing their father's fatal escape trick carry real emotional weight, but these moments are often undercut by overwrought melodrama and convenient plot turns that strain credibility.

What works best is the chemistry between the leads when the script allows quieter moments of vulnerability. The father's death haunting the narrative provides genuine stakes, and there are sequences—particularly the escape attempt climax—where you feel the terror and desperation that should anchor the film's emotional core. Storyline

One brother's got actual superpowers and he's absolutely devoted to Lord Hanuman—this guy's basically a walking deity with muscles for days! Meanwhile his brother is this timid magician who's been chasing his dead father's dream, desperate to nail this impossible escape trick that literally killed the old man. These two couldn't be more different, right—one's a god-fearing powerhouse, the other's a nervous performer trapped by his family's tragic legacy.

Then everything goes sideways when the meek magician finally attempts his father's death-defying escape, and things spiral into genuine danger! The superpowered brother has to choose between hiding in the shadows and actually using his divine gifts to save his sibling from the same fate that took their dad. The emotional weight here is insane—it's not just about superhuman strength, it's about whether courage can actually run in families.

In the end, it's pure magic when the superpowered brother channels his Hanuman devotion and becomes the hero his brother needed all along! The meek magician finally completes the escape—but not alone, because real strength comes from family stepping up for each other. These two go from living separate lives to becoming this unstoppable duo where superpowers meet raw human determination!
