Review
This premise had genuine potential—a coming-of-age story wrapped around an unusual superpower could've been something fresh in Hindi cinema. Instead, what we get is a half-baked execution that mistakes whimsy for substance. The central conceit of olfactory-based crime-solving is intriguing on paper, but the screenplay never commits to exploring it meaningfully. The director treats the protagonist's newfound ability as a convenient plot device rather than something that fundamentally transforms his relationship with the world. The performances lack conviction; you can feel the actors struggling to ground absurdity in any sort of emotional reality. For a film that asks us to suspend disbelief around something as sensory as smell, there's a baffling lack of sensory detail in the storytelling itself.
What truly grates is how lazily the car theft subplot is handled. This isn't crime-solving—it's connect-the-dots with a marker. The investigation feels perfunctory, the stakes hollow, and the climax arrives without any real tension or earned catharsis. The direction is serviceable at best, competent at worst, never finding a visual language that matches the film's inherent weirdness. There are moments that *almost* work, glimmers of charm in the quieter character moments, but they're swallowed by sloppy pacing and a second half that derails entirely. Storyline
So there's this kid who's lived his whole life unable to smell anything at all. Imagine going through childhood without experiencing scents – no favorite foods smelling delicious, no flowers in a garden, nothing. It's a pretty unique situation that sets him apart from everyone else around him.
Then something amazing happens and he suddenly develops this incredible ability to detect smells from incredibly far away. We're talking about a superpower that's way beyond what normal people can do! He can pick up on scents from distances that seem almost impossible, which is pretty wild when you think about it.
With this newfound gift, our protagonist gets pulled into solving a serious crime. Turns out there's a ring of car thieves operating in his area, and his special smelling abilities become exactly what's needed to crack the case. It's a pretty cool story about how something that made him different ends up making him the hero.
