Sheshnaag attempts to weave mythology, romance, and supernatural intrigue into a Bollywood fantasy drama, and while the ambition is commendable, the execution falters between its competing narrative threads. The film hinges on the central relationship between Bhola and Bhanu Nagin—a premise rich with emotional potential—yet the direction struggles to maintain consistent pacing through its labyrinthine plot. There are genuine moments of chemistry between the leads, and the serpent mythology offers visual spectacle that occasionally sparkles. However, the story's reliance on convenient revelations (particularly Champa's survival) feels contrived rather than earned, and the parallel romance with Kamini dilutes focus from what should have been the narrative's emotional core. The performances show promise but aren't given room to breathe beneath the weight of too many subplots.

What saves Sheshnaag from being a complete misfire is its sincerity and the commitment to its climactic sequences. The final temple showdown, for all its melodrama, carries genuine stakes, and the decision to have Pritam deliver the killing blow—rather than relying on divine intervention alone—suggests the director understands that character agency matters. The visual design of the serpent temple sequences shows technical competence, even if the overall pacing doesn't justify the two-plus hour runtime. Bhanu's sacrifice and resurrection cycle, while familiar in Hindu mythology, is handled with appropriate

Storyline

Bhola's a humble villager who gets saved by Bhanu Nagin, a mystical shapeshifting serpent, after she's wounded by the evil wizard Aghori—who's absolutely obsessed with becoming immortal through an ancient temple ritual. When tragedy strikes and his sister Champa dies, Bhanu disguises herself as Champa and gives Bhola a fresh start with wealth and a mansion, where her partner Pritam trains him to be brave. But here's where it gets messy: Bhola falls hard for Kamini, daughter of the corrupt Seth Lalchand, and suddenly he's caught between love and loyalty to his supernatural saviors.

Everything implodes when Lalchand—who's actually Aghori's follower—arranges Kamini's wedding to another guy and orders Aghori to poison Bhola! Bhanu sacrifices herself trying to suck out the venom, pushing herself toward death until Pritam barely saves her. The truth finally explodes open: Bhola's real sister Champa is alive, and Bhanu has been protecting him all along—talk about a gut-punch revelation! But before they can catch their breath, Aghori kidnaps the whole crew and drags them to the serpent temple, threatening to kill Bhola unless Pritam and Bhanu help him achieve immortality.

In the ultimate showdown, Lord Shiva himself reveals that Aghori's only weakness is his chest, and Pritam doesn't hesitate for a second—he strikes him down! The lovers are finally free, the snakes have redeemed their debt, and Pritam and Bhanu ascend to heaven together in the most beautiful, earned happy ending. Pure magic, genuine stakes, and a love story that transcends mortal boundaries—this one absolutely hits!
