This film attempts to marry the globe-trotting romance of *Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge* with the espionage thrills of a Bond film, but the execution falters considerably. The premise—a passionate couple caught between love and suspicion, only to reveal hidden identities—has potential, yet the narrative feels rushed and poorly calibrated. The chemistry between the leads carries early promise during the romantic sequences, which at least capture some of that breathless, starry-eyed energy Bollywood does so well. However, once the "sinister turn" arrives, the film struggles to maintain tension. The twist that Jaideep is an undercover agent feels less like a narrative revelation and more like a convenient reset button, robbing the story of genuine stakes and character development.
Director's handling of tone is particularly problematic—the shift from intimate romance to international espionage thriller happens too abruptly, creating a jarring tonal whiplash rather than a seamless genre blend. The climactic ship sequence, meant to be the crescendo, instead plays as melodramatic and unconvincing. The antagonist Mr. Wong remains a paper-thin villain with minimal screen presence, making the threat feel hollow. What ultimately saves this from complete mediocrity is the earnest commitment of the performances during intimate moments, reminding us there was a beating heart somewhere beneath the convoluted plotting.

Storyline
