Review
John Abraham's *Rocky Handsome* arrives as a straightforward vigilante thriller that competently executes its revenge narrative without pushing the boundaries of the genre. Abraham brings his characteristic physicality to Kabir, a man of few words who transforms from reluctant protector to avenging force, and the actor's understated performance works well enough in the film's favour—there's a stoicism here that recalls the better work of Ajay Devgn in similar roles. Director Nishikant Kamat, however, treats the material with a paint-by-numbers approach that ultimately undermines the film's potential. The Goa setting is aesthetically pleasant but narratively inert; the crime lord Mantoo never achieves the menace required, and the supporting cast—particularly in the antagonist roles—lacks the charisma that elevated something like *Shootout at Wadala* or *Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai*. The emotional anchor of Naomi, the child at peril, feels manipulative rather than earned, given how quickly we're expected to invest in these relationships.
What prevents the film from sliding into outright mediocrity is its commitment to action sequences that, while formulaic, are staged with technical proficiency. The hand-to-hand combat choreography and the film's climactic set pieces show Kamat understands how to frame violence for maximum impact. Storyline
So there's this guy Kabir living in Goa who keeps to himself, running a small pawn shop and minding his own business. His neighbor Anna is struggling with addiction and works as a dancer, but she has this adorable little daughter Naomi who forms a really sweet connection with Kabir. Everything's pretty chill until Anna and her boyfriend make a terrible decision to steal some drugs from a dangerous crime lord named Mantoo, and she ends up hiding them in a camera that she pawns to Kabir.
Things go downhill fast when Mantoo discovers his stash is missing and sends his crew after it. The situation escalates dramatically when these brutal criminals show up at Anna's place, and poor Naomi witnesses some really dark stuff. Eventually they track down the camera at Kabir's place, but the criminals hold Anna and Naomi hostage to force Kabir into making a risky drug delivery for them.
Kabir finds himself trapped in a dangerous game between the criminals and corrupt cops, trying to navigate this nightmare scenario where the stakes keep getting higher. There's this whole web of crime involving organ trafficking and drug manufacturing that he gets pulled into, and everything becomes incredibly complicated and dangerous for him. The movie follows how Kabir tries to survive and protect the people he cares about while caught in the middle of all this criminal activity.
