This is a revenge saga that *wants* to be gritty and socially conscious but keeps tripping over its own melodramatic impulses. The core premise—a corrupt family terrorizing an entire village while the system protects them—has real teeth, and there are moments where the film actually bites down. The brutality inflicted on Jyoti and Saraswati isn't exploited for cheap thrills; it's positioned as the catalyst for a legitimate moral reckoning. But then the screenplay keeps interrupting itself with contrived plot twists and the mandatory inspector subplot that squanders genuine tension. The "is Suraj friend or foe" angle could've been a compelling moral gray zone instead it plays out like a guessing game that exhausts its mystery long before the finale arrives.
The performances are serviceable but uneven. There's conviction in the pain on display—you believe Krishna and Saraswati's rage—but the supporting cast feels perpetually underutilized, especially in fleshing out the antagonists. Raghu and Sajjan needed to be frightening enough to justify the film's runtime; instead, they're one-note villains spouting threats. The direction has competent moments—a few well-executed action sequences, some atmospheric tension in the second act—but lacks the visual or narrative sophistication to elevate this beyond standard revenge fare. What could've been a sharp indictment of judicial corruption and impunity settles for being a functional but forgettable thriller that preaches without truly
