Rajkumar Hirani's *PK* arrives as an audacious social comedy wrapped in science fiction packaging, and while its ambitions occasionally exceed its execution, the film's earnest attempt to dismantle religious superstition through humor marks a departure from the safer Bollywood formulas of its era. Aamir Khan's portrayal of the eponymous alien is nothing short of a masterclass in physical comedy—his jerky movements, genuine bewilderment at earthly customs, and childlike innocence recall the physical virtuosity of Chaplin more than typical Bollywood buffoonery. Anushka Sharma grounds the film as Jaggu, bringing vulnerability beneath her spirited investigative energy, and their chemistry elevates what could have been a one-note gimmick into something genuinely affecting. The film's strength lies in how it weaponizes innocence: PK's questions about religion and morality feel earned rather than preachy because they emerge organically from his alien confusion, making the social commentary land without the heavy-handedness that plagued similar projects.

However, the film stumbles when it prioritizes message over narrative coherence. The romantic subplot involving Jaggu and her Pakistani boyfriend feels undernourished and exists primarily as scaffolding for the larger critique of communal politics, leaving character motivations feeling thin. The second half dilutes the narrative focus, shifting between multiple tangents—the godman's villainy, the religious tourism, Jaggu's personal

Storyline

So this alien dude crash-lands in Rajasthan completely naked and loses his spaceship remote to some thief. Meanwhile, there's this Indian girl named Jaggu studying in Belgium who falls hard for a Pakistani guy, but her super religious father and some dodgy godman convince her it's a bad idea. When her boyfriend suddenly ghosts her with a mysterious letter, she's devastated and heads back to India as a journalist to figure out what went wrong.

That's when Jaggu meets PK, this hilarious alien who's been wandering around India trying to find his stolen remote and asking everyone about where God is. He's basically clueless about how Earth works and keeps causing chaos wherever he goes—like trying to steal money from temples because he thinks God owes people. Through some crazy adventures, Jaggu realizes PK is genuinely trying to help people and that he's learned about tons of different religions while searching for his remote, all because someone told him only God could help him find it.

Together, these two become unlikely friends as Jaggu helps PK navigate the confusing world of Indian religion and spirituality. Along the way, they also start digging into why Jaggu's boyfriend disappeared on her and whether that godman's prediction was actually true. It's basically a wild journey where this innocent alien and a heartbroken girl go around meeting all kinds of people and uncovering some pretty surprising truths about faith, love, and human nature.
