"Pepper Chicken" positions itself as a thriller that banks heavily on an unsettling premise: a radio jockey abandons her job on the eve of her wedding, only to find herself trapped in a cab journey that spirals into genuine menace. The film's central conceit—an isolated road trip with a mysteriously sketchy driver—has enough intrigue to keep you invested, and the atmospheric shift from mundane commute to creeping dread is handled effectively enough to maintain tension for stretches of the runtime. The mystery surrounding the cab driver's true intentions provides decent narrative fuel, and there's genuine credit due for the commitment to maintaining an off-kilter, uncomfortable vibe throughout.

However, the execution ultimately falters where it matters most. While the premise crackles with potential, the film struggles to develop its characters beyond their surface-level functions, leaving you invested in the *situation* rather than the people inhabiting it. The pacing occasionally stumbles, and the payoff to all that accumulated tension doesn't quite deliver the knockout punch the setup deserves. The performances are serviceable but lack the nuance needed to elevate material that grows increasingly predictable as it unfolds. What begins as a genuinely unsettling ride gradually deflates into familiar thriller mechanics that have been executed far more sharply elsewhere.

"Pepper Chicken" is watchable if you're hungry for a claustrophobic thriller, but it's more "guilty pleasu

Storyline

Oh my god, you have to watch this one! So there's this radio jockey—you know, someone who's always chatting on air and making people laugh—and she's literally getting married tomorrow. Can you imagine? She decides to quit her job right before the big day and hops into a cab to start her new chapter. Sounds romantic, right? Well, things take a pretty creepy turn pretty fast.

The cab ride itself becomes absolutely terrifying when they end up in the middle of nowhere, in this completely isolated area. Like, the vibe shifts from normal commute to genuinely spooky and you're sitting there wondering what's going to happen next. The whole atmosphere just feels wrong, and you're on the edge of your seat the entire time.

And here's the thing—the cab driver is totally mysterious. There's something sketchy about him that keeps unfolding throughout the movie, and you're constantly trying to piece together what his deal actually is. It's one of those films that keeps you guessing and definitely keeps you hooked. Honestly, it's such a wild ride!
