Ravi Kishan delivers a surprisingly earnest performance in this prison drama that attempts to balance redemption with the lighter notes of a musical narrative. The premise itself—using music as a vehicle for transformation within jail walls—carries genuine emotional potential, and director Rahi Anil Barve does find moments of authentic vulnerability, particularly when exploring the backstories of the inmates. However, the film struggles with tonal inconsistency, oscillating between heavy courtroom drama and feel-good musical sequences in ways that often feel unearned. The supporting cast, while committed, rarely transcends their archetypal roles, and the script doesn't quite give them the depth needed to make their transformations fully convincing.

Where the film falters most is in its pacing and emotional scaffolding. The narrative moves too quickly through crucial character moments to properly establish why we should invest in these men's arcs, particularly Kishen's journey from accused murderer to inspirational band leader. The music competition itself, meant to be the film's centerpiece, feels hurried and underdeveloped compared to the buildup. Gayatri's role as the idealistic NGO worker could have provided a richer counterpoint to prison cynicism, but instead remains largely functional. That said, the film's heart isn't in question—it genuinely wants to say something about hope and second chances in India's broken penal system, and that intention does resonate even when

Storyline

A guy named Kishen from Moradabad ends up in serious trouble when he's accused of murder and thrown into Lucknow Central Jail. He's stuck there facing a death penalty trial, which is pretty heavy stuff. That's when his life takes an unexpected turn and things start to get interesting for him.

An NGO worker named Gayatri shows up at the jail with this cool idea—she wants to put together a prison band to compete in a music competition happening right there in the jail. Kishen gets excited about this opportunity and manages to convince four other inmates to join him. These guys become his crew, and together they decide to give this whole music thing a shot.

What unfolds is this really moving story about how music becomes this powerful force in everyone's lives. As Kishen and his fellow inmates get deeper into the band and prepare for the competition, you see how the experience starts changing them in unexpected ways. It's about finding hope and connection in the most unlikely place.
