Lootcase arrives as a spirited attempt to breathe fresh air into Mumbai's middle-class underdog narrative, a space that Hindi cinema has mined extensively from *Jai Bhim* to *Badhaai Ho*. The film's central premise—an ordinary repairman stumbling upon a fortune only to find himself caught between warring criminal factions—is familiar territory, yet director Rajesh Krishnan pursues it with enough comedic vigour and kinetic energy to keep the machinery humming for most of its runtime. Rajpal Yadav's portrayal of the everyman protagonist carries genuine warmth; there's a sweetness to his desperation and a credible everyman vulnerability that grounds the increasingly outlandish circumstances. The supporting cast meshes well, and the satirical jabs at bureaucratic corruption feel well-timed, even if they occasionally overshadow the more intimate character moments that could have elevated this beyond a typical heist-comedy.

Where *Lootcase* struggles is in maintaining tonal balance—the film lurches between genuine sentiment about working-class aspirations and slapstick comedy without always earning the transitions. Storyline

A humble repairman named Nandan lives a life of quiet frustration in a cramped Mumbai tenement, his days consumed by fixing broken machines while his wife's endless complaints remind him of everything they lack. He refuses to surrender to the idea that fate has already written his story in poverty, yet the weight of unfulfilled dreams—his own and his family's—presses down on him like the very machines he labors to restore. But fate, it seems, has other plans.

A suitcase tumbles into Nandan's world during a moment of chance—a crimson container stuffed with more money than he could earn in ten lifetimes. Thinking his luck has finally turned, he hides it away, imagining all the ways this windfall might transform his ordinary existence. What he doesn't know is that this case holds far more than cash; it contains secrets that powerful men have killed to protect, and now both a ruthless gangster and a corrupt politician will stop at nothing to claim it back.

As Nandan cautiously begins spending fragments of his newfound fortune, dangerous forces start closing in from all directions, each with their own ruthless agenda and an army of men at their command. The hunter becomes the hunted in a game where one misstep could shatter everything, and the line between luck and catastrophe grows perilously thin.
