Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi

"Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi" is a cautionary tale of what happens when ambition outpaces execution. Director Rakesh Mehta had something potentially interesting on his hands—a multi-narrative film exploring four distinct perspectives on life's struggles. But somewhere between conception and the final cut, the film lost the plot entirely. The screenplay lacks the sophistication needed to weave these parallel tracks into something meaningful; instead, they spiral into a chaotic mess that feels more accidental than artistic. The cast, which should have been a strength, becomes a liability—misused and directionless, wandering through a script that offers them nothing substantial to work with. Only Manu Rishi manages to salvage some dignity with occasional moments of humor, but even he can't rescue this sinking ship.

The film's fundamental problem isn't that it moves slowly or takes unconventional narrative risks—it's that those risks go nowhere. Four characters carrying four separate worldviews should create philosophical friction and thematic resonance, but instead, the film meanders aimlessly without conveying anything worth sitting through. The treatment is lazy, allowing good actors to stumble into awkward, inconsistent performances that reek of confusion.
