There's an earnest attempt at exploring the messy intersection of immigration desperation and unexpected romance in this modest film, and one must credit director Abhijoy Banerjee for choosing a premise that resonates with the lived experience of many diaspora communities. The central conceit—a marriage of convenience that blossoms into genuine connection—has potential, and the early chemistry between Raj and Pia contains moments of genuine warmth that suggest the film understands the delicate dance between strangers learning to coexist. The performances, while uneven, show sincerity; there's no sense that the actors are phoning it in, even when the material doesn't quite elevate beyond the familiar.

Where the film stumbles is in execution and dramatic momentum. Storyline

So there's this guy Raj who's been trying to make it work in Toronto on a temporary visa, crashing with his buddy Prem who's definitely not thrilled about sharing his place. When his application to stay permanently in Canada gets rejected, Raj decides to take a pretty drastic step—he marries a woman he's never even met before, thinking it'll help him get approved to stay in the country.

The marriage of convenience doesn't go quite as planned though, because Pia, his new wife, has to actually move in with him to make the whole thing believable. At first it's awkward, but as they spend more time together, something kind of sweet happens—they actually become genuine friends and start to enjoy each other's company.

Things get complicated when Raj meets Linda, this woman who totally shakes up his world and makes him question everything he's done so far. Suddenly his whole plan feels a lot messier and more difficult than he originally thought it would be.
