Kuchh Kariye attempts an audacious genre mashup—threading together the aspirational coming-of-age narrative of films like Dil Chahta Hai with the high-octane thriller machinery of a spy potboiler. The premise itself has potential: a small-town musician navigating both the cutthroat music industry and a terrorist conspiracy could have yielded something genuinely compelling in the hands of a more assured director.
