Review
There's a heartbreak at the core of this film that could've been genuinely moving—a young man paralyzed by unrequited love, unable to function, dragging his closest friends down with him. That's relatable territory for so many of us who've felt that sting of rejection. But "Kisse Pyaar Karoon" squanders this emotional potential by treating its premise like a setup for a punchline rather than a genuine exploration of what it means to love someone who doesn't love you back. The three leads have chemistry as friends, and there are moments where you feel the weight of John's desperation, but the direction never commits to the emotional truth. Instead, we get a half-baked scheme involving a hired girl named Chameli that feels contrived and, frankly, disrespectful to what could've been a story about real vulnerability. The Punjabi wedding band subplot adds flavor but never integrates meaningfully into the narrative—it just exists.
What troubles me most is how the film handles its women. Natasha is barely a character, just a projection of John's longing, and Chameli's introduction as a hired companion feels like it belongs in a different, less thoughtful movie altogether. The performances show promise, particularly in the quieter moments between the three friends, but the script doesn't give anyone room to breathe or grow. Even by the standards of low-budget Bollywood comedies, the pacing is scattered, and the emotional arcs feel abandoned halfway through. This isn't a film that fa
Storyline
So basically, there are these three guys—John, Sid, and Amit—who've been best friends since they were kids and are just finishing college. They're living together in this pretty run-down house, and John has this massive crush on a girl named Natasha from his class that he's never had the guts to tell her about. After they graduate, Sid and Amit end up working for this gangster guy who basically treats them like his own sons, and he gets them gigs performing as a Punjabi wedding band together.
When John finally gets the courage to go confess his feelings to Natasha, he finds out she's already bounced and gone on a world tour. He gets absolutely devastated and can't stop moping about her, which honestly makes things pretty awkward when the three of them perform at a wedding—John's so bummed out that he completely kills the vibe, and they end up getting beaten up by the angry guests. The doctor who treats them thinks John needs to snap out of it and get over Natasha, so Sid and Amit come up with this plan to take his mind off things by hiring someone to help him forget.
When they bring in this girl named Chameli, things don't go quite as expected because she ends up falling for Amit instead and wants to marry him, which he's not really trying to do. So she reluctantly agrees to spend time with John, but that plan totally backfires because John just spends the whole time talking about Natasha and boring her out of her mind. It's pretty clear their scheme isn't working out the way they hoped!
