Jugni attempts to weave a romantic coming-of-age narrative around music and self-discovery, but it stumbles badly in execution. The premise—a burnt-out music director fleeing to Punjab to find inspiration through a legendary singer—has genuine potential, yet the film squanders it with lazy storytelling and paint-by-numbers character development. The romance between Vibs and Mastana feels tacked on rather than organic, arriving like clockwork when the script demands emotional stakes. Director Anurag Kashyap's sensibilities are nowhere to be found here; instead, we get formulaic melodrama dressed up in indie clothing.
