"It's My Life" attempts to explore the timeless conflict between personal desire and familial obligation through the romance between Abhi, a wealthy heir suffocated by paternal expectations, and Muskaan, a spirited middle-class woman who captivates him. The film's central premise—a man choosing love over duty—carries genuine dramatic potential, and the early chemistry between the leads provides moments of warmth. The narrative's introduction of a buried secret connecting their fathers adds layers of complexity that could have deepened the emotional stakes. However, the execution falters in the middle stretches, particularly during the Thailand sequence where tension devolves into awkward contrivance rather than organic conflict. Abhi's controlling behavior toward Muskaan undermines the romance, making his character less sympathetic than intended, and the film struggles to balance comedy with the weightier themes of class disparity and parental authority.

The second half descends into melodrama with the inevitable family confrontation and Muskaan's cryptic announcement, feeling less like a natural progression and more like the filmmakers checking boxes on a Bollywood drama checklist. While the supporting cast performs adequately and there are scattered moments of genuine emotion, the pacing becomes labored, and the writing relies too heavily on coincidence—a random wedding encounter that conveniently unravels everything. The film doesn't quite commit to either being a light r

Storyline

Okay, so there's this super rich guy named Abhi whose dad basically controls his entire life—like, every decision, every choice, you know? His father is this powerful businessman who expects Abhi to just take over the family business and follow orders, and Abhi's getting so fed up with it all. Things get messy when Abhi's supposed to marry some girl from another wealthy family, but then he meets this amazing middle-class woman named Muskaan and falls hard for her instead. Plot twist though—turns out Abhi had some drunk encounter with Muskaan's father ages ago, and nobody even knows about it yet!

When Abhi's dad finally catches wind of this whole thing, he's not happy, but here's where it gets interesting—he actually gives them a shot. There's this ultimatum though: Muskaan has to prove she's good enough for the family within seven days. So she sneaks off to Thailand with them on this vacation under false pretenses, lying to her own father for the first time ever, and honestly things are just so awkward and tense the whole time because Abhi keeps wanting her to act a certain way and it's driving him crazy.

Everything's moving along until Abhi literally runs into Muskaan's father at his best friend's wedding, and that's when things completely blow up in their faces. There's this huge confrontation between the two of them, and Muskaan makes this shocking announcement that nobody sees coming. Meanwhile, Muskaan's father is furious when he finds out what's been happening, and he basically locks her down when they get back to Mumbai. The whole situation spirals into this massive family drama!
