Vikram Bose's Review of "Go"

There's an interesting kernel of tension buried within this film—the collision between a young couple's romantic escape and a murder conspiracy that threatens to consume them. The premise itself has potential: lovers on the run stumbling into a political conspiracy carries the DNA of several successful thrillers. However, the execution falters significantly. The direction struggles to maintain momentum between the romantic subplot and the political intrigue, treating them as separate narrative threads rather than weaving them into a cohesive whole. When the tape lands in their car, the film should pivot into high-octane thriller territory, yet instead it meanders, losing the urgency that such a premise demands. The performances are serviceable enough—there's genuine chemistry between the leads that grounds their desperation—but the supporting cast, particularly Inspector Nagesh Rao, feels underdeveloped, reducing what could have been a formidable antagonist into a one-dimensional obstacle.

What the film does attempt with some merit is portraying ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances. Storyline

So there's this young couple, Abhay and Vasundhara, who are totally head over heels for each other but their families are completely against them being together. They decide to just pack up and run away to Goa to be with each other, which honestly sounds pretty romantic in a desperate kind of way!

Meanwhile, there's all this dark political stuff happening in the background. The Chief Minister basically orchestrates this whole murder of his deputy, and the whole conversation gets recorded on tape by some guy named Bihari who works for him. Things escalate pretty quickly when Bihari tries to use the tape to blackmail the CM, but the CM's people end up silencing him before he can do much damage.

Here's where things get crazy for our lovers — Bihari manages to stash that incriminating tape in Abhay and Vasundhara's car right before he dies. Now they've accidentally become these unwitting people with dangerous information, and suddenly they're running for their lives. Not only are the Chief Minister's thugs after them, but there's also this corrupt cop named Inspector Nagesh Rao who's got his own reasons for wanting to get his hands on that tape!
