There's something deeply compelling about watching a woman rebuild herself through the cracks of a broken case. Bollywood rarely gives us lawyers with painkiller addictions and fresh grief, yet Simran's journey becomes the emotional spine that this supernatural thriller desperately needs. The film tries to straddle two worlds—the methodical legal drama and the paranormal mystery—and while it doesn't always succeed, there are moments where the collision between courtroom tension and ghostly dread creates genuine unease. The performances carry weight; we feel Simran's desperation not because the script tells us, but because we see her choosing purpose over her own pain. However, the supernatural elements feel grafted onto what could have been a tighter psychological mystery. The revelation of the ghost and its motivations arrives muddled, leaving us unsure whether to invest in the horror or the human drama.

What ultimately undermines the film is its inability to commit fully to either genre. The investigation into Karan and Barkha's fractured marriage—the locket, the affairs, the performative happiness—has real stakes and relatable emotional texture. But each time we sink into these character moments, the ghost interrupts with generic scares that feel obligatory rather than organic. Storyline

So basically, this guy Karan comes back to England from politics and discovers his wife Barkha dead in their apartment. The cops immediately suspect him of murder, and things look pretty bad for him because there's CCTV footage showing him going in and out of the place right around the time she died. He gets arrested, and that's when a struggling lawyer named Simran gets dragged into the case to defend him. Simran's dealing with her own demons at this point—her dad just passed away, her boyfriend left her, and she's got some serious issues with painkiller dependency—but she takes the job anyway.

As Simran digs deeper into the case, she uncovers that Karan and Barkha weren't exactly living in marital bliss. Turns out Karan had spotted his wife receiving a mysterious locket on Valentine's Day and thought she was cheating on him, so he started his own affair. But here's where things get weird—Karan has an alibi that he was actually at his campaign manager Bob's place that whole night and couldn't even drive. However, Bob suddenly disappears and heads off to some mental facility up in Leeds, and when he tries to call Karan with some crucial information, he ends up getting killed by the same supernatural force that took out Barkha.

As Simran keeps investigating the case, strange supernatural stuff keeps happening, and it becomes clear that there's definitely a ghost involved in these murders. Bob's death confirms that something beyond normal criminal activity is going on here, and Simran has to figure out who or what this vengeful spirit is and what their connection is to this whole mess.
