Review
There's a kernel of genuine charm in "Ek Se Bure Do"—two lovable rogues finding redemption through unexpected romance, a treasure hunt that spirals into beautifully orchestrated chaos. The premise promises what Hindi cinema does best: heart wrapped in humor, criminals discovering their humanity through love. Akshay Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat bring an earnestness to Tito and Tony that occasionally lifts the material, especially when the film leans into their banter and the sweetness of falling for the sisters. But here's where it breaks: the direction lacks the precision needed to balance three simultaneous plot threads—the romance, the heist, the impersonation game. What should feel like a carefully constructed farce instead feels scattered, with comedic timing that lands sporadically rather than building momentum. The jokes are there, but they're not connected by anything that makes you *care* whether our con artists succeed.
The real disappointment isn't what's on screen—it's what could have been. A film about scammers learning to value something beyond money has depth, but it gets buried under routine song sequences and a narrative that seems unsure whether it's a caper or a love story. The uncle's twin-like doppelgänger twist, which could have been delicious comedic gold, instead feels contrived and exhausting. Storyline
So there are these two hilarious con artists, Tito and Tony, who are basically partners in crime and spend their days pulling off scams. One day they meet these two sisters who've escaped from their home and are on the run from their uncle. The guys end up falling head over heels for them, which is sweet considering these are total troublemakers!
Now things get complicated because a local crime boss named Jagat Dada decides he needs these two scammers to help him with a big heist—stealing a treasure map from a police station. They actually manage to pull it off, but here's the twist: instead of giving Jagat the real map, they hand him a fake one and keep the authentic treasure map for themselves. While Jagat's running around uselessly looking for the treasure based on their forgery, our two heroes are chasing after the real one, which happens to be hidden in the uncle's house.
Everything spirals into total chaos when Jagat figures out he's been played. He also discovers that he's basically a dead ringer for the girls' uncle, so he decides to impersonate him and sneak into the house to find the treasure himself. What follows is absolute mayhem with everyone running around trying to outsmart each other, and there are all these ridiculous mix-ups and misunderstandings happening left and right!
