Dus Kahaniyaan

Review

5.5/10Critic Score

"Dus Kahaniyaan" attempts the ambitious task of weaving ten stories into one cinematic tapestry, and while the ambition itself deserves applause, the execution proves uneven. Most of the narratives are told with a deft hand, each carrying its own twist that manages to keep you invested and guessing. The film has moments where it genuinely grips you, where the storytelling crackles with energy and purpose. However, not every thread is woven with equal care. A couple of segments—particularly "High On The Highway"—feel out of place and don't quite land with the intended impact, disrupting the rhythm you've built with the stronger stories around it. It's frustrating when a film shows such promise in multiple places, only to stumble at certain junctures.

What makes this harder to swallow is that "Dus Kahaniyaan" had the potential to be something special. The concept itself is gold for cinema—ten chances to tell a story, ten chances to move you, ten chances to prove that great storytelling transcends budget and scale. Some segments do exactly that, while others feel like filler that could have been tightened or reimagined. The film's final segment attempts to leave a lasting impression with all its glitz and spectacle, but by then, the uneven pacing and inconsistent quality have already taken their toll. You leave the theater with a sense of "what could have been" rather than the satisfied feeling a multi-story anthology should deliver.
