5/10Critic Score

This film had every ingredient to be something genuinely moving—a love story bookended by tragedy, organ donation as metaphor, a man rebuilding himself through purpose. Instead, it's a masterclass in squandering emotional potential. Director Rohit Sharma treats the material like a greeting card: sentimental without being sincere, manipulative without being earned. The opening act, where we're introduced to Rishabh and Pari's marriage, moves at the pace of a sedative. Their chemistry feels manufactured, and when tragedy strikes, the film expects us to sob on command rather than guiding us through actual grief. The writing is the culprit here—lines land with all the subtlety of a hammer, and the "twist" involving Dhani's identity is telegraphed so obviously that a blind viewer would see it coming.

Where the film marginally recovers is in its second half, where the hospital project gives the narrative some structural purpose. Arjun Kapoor (as Rishabh) finally finds some depth in scenes where he's processing loss through work rather than declaring his feelings in airport scenes. Shraddha Kapoor, playing Dhani, does better with less—her confusion and attraction feel grounded compared to the overwrought surrounding material. But even their developing dynamic gets bogged down by predictable conflicts and a climax that mistakes melodrama for catharsis. The box office numbers suggest audiences connected with the emotional beats, but that doesn't excuse lazy filmmaking. For a director

Storyline

So there's this couple, Rishabh and Pari, who are totally smitten with each other. He's doing really well as a big shot editor at an ad agency, and she's this amazing doctor who's passionate about helping people. They get married and life seems perfect when they find out they're going to have a baby. Pari's got this beautiful dream of opening a hospital just for children, and they're both excited about making it happen together.

Then tragedy strikes out of nowhere. Pari gets into a serious accident and doesn't survive, and they lose the baby too. It's absolutely heartbreaking, but before she passes, she makes one final wish—to donate her heart to save one of her patients, a girl named Dhani. Rishabh is completely shattered by the loss and initially can't bring himself to go through with the organ donation, but he honors Pari's memory by throwing himself into building that children's hospital she always wanted, naming it Parilok after her.

As time goes on, Rishabh tries to move forward by working on the hospital project with help from his brother-in-law and their team. Meanwhile, Dhani—the girl who received Pari's heart—starts working at Rishabh's advertising agency as a copywriter. She's drawn to him right away, but Rishabh is struggling and can't seem to let go of his grief. The chemistry between them is definitely there, but he's not ready to even acknowledge it, which creates some real tension in the workplace as the hospital plans start coming together.
