Review
There's an earnestness to "Dil Maange More" that tugs at you—the kind of film that understands the ache of loving someone who doesn't love you back, and the messy, beautiful confusion of moving forward. The premise is familiar territory: a heartbroken boy follows his dream girl to the city, only to discover that Mumbai has other plans for him. What saves this from becoming another predictable romance is the chemistry between Nikhil and Shagun, two wounded souls who bicker their way toward healing. Their railway station meet-cute crackles with genuine sparks, and watching them gradually peel back each other's defenses feels earned rather than forced. The supporting cast—particularly Shagun's mother—adds warmth and authenticity to what could have been a hollow love triangle.
However, the film stumbles when it tries to have it all. By introducing Sarah as a third romantic interest, the narrative loses focus just when it needed clarity. The direction wavers between wanting to be a character study and wanting to be a crowd-pleasing rom-com, and it doesn't fully succeed at either. Nikhil's journey from obsession to genuine connection feels rushed in places, and some of the smaller emotional beats get overshadowed by the need to maintain the romantic puzzle. The second half particularly struggles with pacing—scenes that should land with impact instead blur together.
Despite these missteps, there's heart here. The performances are sincere, the small-town sequences genuinely move yo
Storyline
So this guy Nikhil is basically a hopeless romantic who's completely smitten with his long-time girlfriend Neha. She decides to chase her dreams of becoming a flight attendant in Mumbai, and he's so determined to win her back that he follows her there. But things get messy when Neha keeps pushing him away, and eventually she breaks his heart by ending their relationship right before her first flight. Poor guy is absolutely devastated and just wants to escape back to his peaceful hometown.
While he's in Mumbai trying to get Neha back, Nikhil has this hilarious run-in with a super sarcastic and argumentative girl named Shagun at a railway station. They clash immediately, but then fate plays tricks on them when he ends up renting a place right above her house. They keep bickering whenever they cross paths, though Nikhil gets along great with Shagun's mom, who's actually really sweet to him. Gradually, he discovers that Shagun has some serious trust issues because of her rough past, but underneath all that attitude, she's got a good heart.
While working at a music store opposite Neha's training institute, Nikhil meets his coworker Sarah, who seems to take an interest in him and the stories he tells about his charming little hometown. So basically, this guy who came to Mumbai with one woman on his mind ends up catching the attention of not just one, but two other girls in completely unexpected ways. It's turning into quite the romantic puzzle for him!
