"Bekhudi" is a film caught between romantic melodrama and thriller, never quite committing fully to either—a familiar problem in Hindi cinema when ambition outpaces execution. The premise itself isn't without merit: a star-crossed lovers narrative complicated by family vendetta and moral culpability has echoes of *Darr* or even *Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa*, but director Mahesh Bhatt (presumably, given the sensibility) squanders these rich thematic possibilities for convenient plot mechanics. The rooftop tragedy that should anchor everything—a death that binds the lovers in genuine tragedy—feels curiously weightless, overshadowed by Rohit's impulsive chase to Canada and Vicky's cartoonish villainy. What could have been a nuanced exploration of how circumstance fractures families instead becomes a race against the clock, collapsing moral complexity into simple good-versus-evil binaries.

The performances oscillate between sincere and overwrought. Radhika carries a certain vulnerability through her predicament, caught between duty and desire, though the script doesn't offer her much interiority beyond romantic longing. Rohit's character—privileged, impulsive, ultimately exonerated by circumstances rather than character—tests audience sympathy, and the actor seems to sense this uncertainty in his approach. Vicky's sudden pivot into scheming villain with photographic evidence and betrayal fantasies belongs to a different, pulpier film entirely. The ten-day Canadian refuge could have bee

Storyline

Rohit, a brilliant law student and judge's son, sweeps Radhika off her feet at college, and they fall madly in love. But Rocky, Radhika's hot-headed brother, gets expelled after cheating and assaulting the principal—and Judge Gupta sentences him to jail. When Rocky discovers Rohit's father plans to marry his sister to the judge's son, he attacks in a rage, and during their brutal rooftop fight, Rocky tumbles to his death. Radhika's parents are shattered, blaming Rohit entirely, and they ship their daughter off to Canada to marry a wealthy guy named Vicky instead.

Desperate and determined, Rohit chases Radhika to Canada, where they reunite and go into hiding for ten crucial days until she turns eighteen and can legally marry him. A local thug named Rambo accidentally leads them to Vicky's sprawling house, and—plot twist!—Vicky actually helps them by offering shelter and promising to facilitate their wedding. But Vicky's got his own twisted agenda: he's secretly photographing the couple and orchestrating a scheme with Radhika's parents to trap her into marrying him instead, tearing up all the photos to erase Rohit from existence.

When Rohit realizes the con, Vicky beats him senseless, but our hero fights back with Rambo's help and crashes the wedding venue just in time. Rohit sweeps Radhika away, their love triumphs over betrayal, and the families finally accept their union—proving that true love and determination can shatter even the darkest schemes. It's pure, unapologetic romance wrapped in drama, and honestly, you can't help but root for them!
