5/10Critic Score

There's a particular brand of Bollywood comedy that mistakes loudness for humor and marital discord for wit, and "Be Careful" plants itself firmly in that tradition without offering much fresh perspective. The premise—two married men attempting infidelity in Bangkok while their wives hunt them down—is hardly original territory; we've seen variations from "Dil Chahta Hai" to "Bachelor" that either grounded such scenarios in genuine character conflict or at least elevated the chaos with sharp writing. Here, the film relies heavily on the bro-chemistry between its leads and the tired trope of controlling wives versus freedom-seeking husbands, which feels more like a relic of early 2000s comedy than contemporary cinema. The Bangkok setting promises visual variety and cultural fish-out-of-water moments, but the execution appears to squander this opportunity, instead doubling down on predictable misunderstandings and contrived coincidences.

The performances seem to lean into broad strokes rather than the nuanced comedic timing that made similar films work in the past—think how Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgn elevated mediocre scripts through sheer presence and comic sensibility. Without substantive character work or a director willing to interrogate the underlying misogyny of the premise, "Be Careful" reads as comedy for its own sake, where the wives are obstacles rather than fully realized people, and Poem exists primarily as a plot device rather than a character. Storyline

Sam and Andy are the ultimate bro duo—childhood best friends who've always been partners in crime, whether it's academics, sports, or their legendary girl-chasing exploits! These two treat love like a game, constantly betting on who'll score next, and life's been one long victory lap until Anjali and Kiran waltz in. These smart girls play them like fiddles, claiming they're saving their virginity for marriage, and suddenly our heroes find themselves at the altar, completely outmaneuvered!

Marriage turns out to be a total prison sentence—the wives control everything from credit cards to meal planning, turning their Bangkok trip into a meticulously scheduled nightmare instead of the freedom fest Sam and Andy imagined. Just when they think they've finally escaped to the hotel, they discover Mr. Pandit runs the place like a military fortress with zero tolerance for any monkey business, making Bangkok feel exactly like home! Then they meet Poem, this absolutely stunning woman, and the competitive spark reignites—they're back to their old betting games, lying to each other about their progress, convinced they're finally about to break free!

But karma's a beautiful thing because the wives suddenly show up in Bangkok, and everything spirals into absolute comedy chaos! Now Sam and Andy are caught between their scheming with Poem and their wives closing in on them, and the stakes have never been higher—their entire careers and family businesses are on the line if they get caught red-handed. The real magic happens when these two realize that sometimes getting caught is exactly what you need to grow up!
